Mie University international scholarships for students from universities with exchange agreements

Mie University offers scholarships to undergraduate and postgraduate exchange students from universities that Mie University has either university or faculty level exchange agreements with, starting in the 2008 academic year.

  1. Scholarships for undergraduate exchange students from partner universities (short-term)

    1. Eligible Universities: Universities or faculties which have student exchange agreements with Mie University
    2. Eligible Students: International students who study at Mie University for six months or more under the exchange student program
    3. Scholarship Amount: ¥20,000 per month for up to one year (up to ¥240,000 per year)
    4. Number of Scholarship Students: Up to 20 students per academic year
    5. How to Apply: Submit the “Mie University International Scholarship Application Form” together with the application form for Special Auditor Students or Special Research Students
    6. Result Notification: The selection results will be notified approximately within one month after the application deadline to representatives in applicants’ universities.
  2. Scholarships for postgraduate exchange students from partner universities

    Requirements for students are as follows:

    1. Students who are starting their master courses at Mie University in either Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences or Graduate School of Education at their own expenses and who have excellent achievement of their education and research.
    2. Students who are starting their doctor courses at Mie University in Graduate School of Medicine, Graduate School of Engineering, Graduate School of Bioresources or Graduate School of Regional Innovation at their own expenses and who have excellent achievement of their education and research.
    3. Recommendation of the president of the university or the dean of the faculty is also required.

    Students who meet the requirements above are exempt from admission fee which is ¥282,000 and tuition for their standard years:

    • Master Course in Graduate School of Humanities and Social Science and Graduate School of Education which is ¥535,800 per year (tuition waiver is for up to two years)
    • Doctor Course in Graduate School of Engineering, Bioresources and Regional Innovation which is ¥520,800 per year (tuition waiver is for up to three years)
    • Doctor Course in Graduate School of Medicine which is ¥520,800 per year (tuition waiver is for up to four years)
