Applying for a MEXT scholarship with Mie University recommendation

Mie University is accepting applications for "2010 Japanese Government Scholarship International Student (research students, university recommendation)."

Submit the documents described in the below items (1), (2), and (3) to the International Relations Office of the Academic Affairs and Information Department by February 26 (Friday), 2010.

Prepare documents described in the items (1) and (3) both in paper and electronic formats.

2010 Application Guide for Japanese Government Scholarship Students (research students, university recommendation) (downloadable from the links below)

  1. Documents to be filled in by the applicant (downloadable from the links below)

  2. Documents to be acquired by the applicant in his/her country

    • Photocopies of a certificate of (anticipated) graduation and a degree certificate issued by the last university attended (faculty and/or graduate school)
    • Photocopy of an academic transcript issued by the last university attended (faculty and/or graduate school)
    • Photocopy of a certificate issued by the last university attended which shows he/she has achieved excellent academic results (e.g. GPA, class placement results, scholastic standing)
    • Photocopy of a certificate of family register or citizenship in his/her home country
    • Photocopy of a recommendation letter from the Dean of his/her department/graduate school or higher (addressed to Mie University President)
    • Two photographs (6 x 4 cm; taken within the past 6 months; showing the upper part facing front; no hat. Paste each photo with the applicant's nationality and name on the back on the designated place of the application form.)You can send it in electronic formats
    • An abstract of the graduation dissertation
    • Document certifying the applicant's foreign language proficiency (e.g. score certificate of TOEFL, TOEIC, Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students, or Japanese Language Proficiency Test)
